It’s okay. Take a deep breath. You’ve done a great job. Take a rest then try again.

During pandemic I had a lot of free time. So, I started watching Korean drama. I asked my friends who’s into Korean dramas, they recommended some series from variety of genre. Since I’m not into lovey-dovey drama, one drama stood out. Hospital Playlist.

Hospital Playlist portrayed life of five doctors in their 40s who worked at the same hospital and have been best friends since their college days. Meet Lee Ik-Jun, general surgeon. Ahn Jeong-Won, pediatric surgeon. Kim Jun-wan, cardiothoracic surgeon. Yang Seok-Hyeon, obstetrics and gynecologist. Last but not least, the only female of the group Chae Song-Hwa, neurosurgeon.

Main cast. Yang Seok-Hyeon, Ahn Jeong-Won, Chae Song-Hwa, Kim Jun-Wan, Lee Ik-Jun (Left to right).

One thing that made this drama more interesting was the band. The doctors were also performing as a band, usually at the end of the episode and the song choice was always spot on to conclude the story of each episode.

This drama aired every Thursday on Netflix and this week episode was like a complete meal. Funny, sad, and also heartwarming at the same time. This week stories told us that everybody made mistakes especially at young age. Whether it’s a silly mistake like one of the intern did or pretty big mistake like the fellow surgeon did during her first solo surgery.

During this pandemic, I tend to keep everything inside. Every time I wanted to tell someone, I always thought that their problems seem bigger and I did not want to bother them with my little problems. These days, I was thinking about how my live is going to be. I had dreams and it felt so far away, impossible to reach. So when watching this episode, it was very comforting because it’s like your friends pat you in the back and saying “It’s alright. I’m proud of you”.

I still find it difficult to tell someone about my personal problems, but I’m here to listen. If you didn’t have anyone to talk to, feel free to contact me :) or try to watch this drama. Maybe it will make your day a little brighter :)

Keep safe and drink latte ☕
